Tourists

Hmmmm. Telluride was busy today, or at least it seems that way to me. Thanks to tourists, it keeps this small town a float, but you know, I like it when it is a little bit more of a small ski town.

I am looking foward to getting "my" town back....

December Hike Of the Jud Wiebe Trail

As many of you know, I am trying to hike the Jud Wiebe Trail once every month. Today was my December entry.

I brought along my new GPS (Garmin eTrex Vista C) so I could gps stamp my photos.

I then downloaded and purchased RoboGEO to write the latitude, longitude and altitude to the image's EXIF headers. In otherwords stamp the GPS coordinates into the image itself.

I added descriptions and keywords using Adobe Bridge to the images I liked.

I then uploaded the images to my Blog Gallery on Smugmug.

Here is the really COOL part. Since the images have been stamped with GPS info, you can "map this" and it will create a Google Map with the photos. Note, you will probably have to zoom out a bit, because Google does not have images for the area. Cool ...

My first "professional" photo shoot

I was requested by a friend to take photos for her Christmas Cards. The hardest part of this "shoot" was trying to make the dog smile. Woof...

Anyway, it was fun none the less.

2005 Holiday Bazaar was a Success!!

For those that did not know, I had a booth at the TCAH 2005 Holiday Bazaar. This was my first major splash for Michael Mowery Media in Telluride. Over the 3 days in Early December, I sold $644 worth of stuff. The screen savers and calendars where the biggest sellers.

SLog down, 75,349 feet of descent

My server went down last week, which hosted my Ski Log. Not sure what is wrong with it. Been skiing too much to figure it out.

Anyway, in order to try to reach my 1 million feet goal, I needed to ski hard the last three days.
Sunday: 12,510 feet (Alpine)
Monday: 25,506 feet (Telemark)
Tuesday: 37,333 feet (Alpine)
Total: 75,349: I am a little sore today.

Grand total for year is 193,841 which is 19% of my goal.
It will be interesting to see if I make it.

Think Snow (we sure need it).

SLog (Ski\Ride Log)

Ok yes, I am geek!! :)
Not that anyone really cares how much I skied or rode, but I am putting together a spreadsheet that logs my activity this year.

I use the Garmin eTrex C to record my daily decents.

My Slog is located At http://www.photofetch.com/skilog/skilog.html
