Today the Gondola re-opened.

I have been waiting for this day for a long time, (ok, only a month or so), but I wanted to waste no time riding my favorite pastime.

I was not the first person on the 'g' but close to it.

A couple of pictures.

Town of Telluride all deck out for Mountain Film Fesitval.

First "chair" of the re-opening of the gondola. I was not on this car, but was on number #3. :)

Over Night Trip toward Liberty Bell Mine

Saturday afternoon, and it was RECORD degree heat here in town. I finally got my stuff together around 12:30 and started heading up the hill toward Liberty Bell Mine. I love the fact I can go interesting places without getting in my truck.

Anyway, I was loaded down with overnight gear, and the only thing flat about Telluride is the valley floor. In otherwords, I was sucking air, being in the shape I was.

But I had plenty of time, and good spirits. Soon, I was into the snow. Post-hole I went, until it was not worth the work. I climbed up on the ridge and set up camp. Nothing very comfortable about my campsite. It was rocky, on a slant, and cliffs on 3 sides. I just hoped I did not sleep walk, or the wind to blow me off.

That night I witness a incredible sunset and moon rise. Without a doubt the photos I took from that spot was worth every minor back-ache. :)

Enjoy, I sure did.

Camped in parking lot of A-Basin

On my way to Denver for the week, I camped in the parking lot of A-Basin Friday night, and skied the "Legend" on Saturday. Good fun.

A-Basin is ready for another day of skiing.

Loveland Pass the morning of May 7

On the way over Loveland pass, I saw mr. fox. It is amazing that foxes live in about every different type of climate. I have seen them at the beach and at +11,000 feet.

Aspens on Chair 8 catching some rays

Hi, I am a tree, growing on a rock, watching the skiers ski. (However, not right now, because the season is done.)
